Pattern: My own inspired by Linum and The Weekender
Yarn: Tanis Fiber Arts Mulberry Silk in Slate
Hooray! A finished project that I can wear now!! This is my first experience knitting with silk. What a wonderful yarn. I love the way the fabric turned out. This tee is so soft and cool in warm weather.
I bought this amazing mulberry silk yarn two years ago, and I was hunting for the perfect pattern for it. I really liked the look of this Linum Tee, but I kept putting off buying the pattern for one reason or another. Last spring I bought The Weekender pattern and noticed that the construction is similar to that of some other tees I've seen. Using that as a springboard, I swatched and embarked on designing my own tee pattern. It was so fun and rewarding, and of course, I love the math! I tried out a tubular cast on, an overlapping split-hem, fisherman's rib, and three needle bind off.
The fisherman's rib at a looser gauge creates such a cool, dimensional lace.
Fun little split hem.
And I made the earrings, too!
